I have worked with Perry Maisonneuve for over twenty (20) years. He was instrumental in helping OXFORD LEARNING CENTRES build our franchise system from 5 units to over 150 units. Perry helped Oxford Learning develop systems and procedures that allowed us to scale a very complicated operating system successfully.
Perry is the consummate franchise professional whose vast experience and knowledge allows him to feel comfortable at all levels of franchising. His advice is both sound and practical. Perry taught us about franchise sales, guided us through the early days legal pitfalls, got us great representation and was always there whenever we needed advice or guidance. I have no hesitation recommending Perry or his company Northern Lights Consultants Corp. In fact, we will continue to use his superior services whenever the occasion calls for it.
Feel free to reach out to me should you wish to discuss further.
R. Nick Whitehead CEO
OXFORD LEARNING CENTRES, INC.
Perry helped us determine if our franchise model would be viable; and after giving us the green light, he stayed right with us as we built the franchise business brick-by-brick. All along the way, he guided, critiqued and challenged us and recommended occasional course corrections. Bottom line: Perry was invaluable - and our launch was a great success. We surpassed our targets.
Former CEO and Chairman.
Perry has been a franchise industry colleague and fellow advocate for ethical franchising for over 20 years. We met at the Canadian Franchise Association and volunteered together. It is at the CFA where I developed my respect for Perry's knowledge of not only franchising but of small business development in general. He understands this business and in particular, understands the nuances of the franchisee-franchisor relationship dynamic, which is the heart and soul of this business strategy. Perry supports his clients at all levels: from brand and business strategy to the unit level, with a tactical approach to driving daily system sales. Perry understands that his Clients want solutions that are practical and cost effective. Perry has a work ethic and dedication to client satisfaction that is second to none.

In May 2003, Mr. Maisonneuve was presented with the “Franchise Support Services Recognition Award” for his outstanding support and contribution to the CFA and the franchising community.
In 2002, (Northern Lights Consultants or NLFC) were engaged by the Private Sector Department of the ADB, with Canadian bilateral funding, to carry out novel research in the area of franchising and its potential for SME development in the African context. Through extensive research, acute analysis, teamwork and interaction with the key players in the field, the final report, published by the ADB as “Enhancing Development in Africa: Franchising Report”, has been acclaimed by the private and public sector in Africa as well as by other international partners as groundbreaking work. Indeed, it has served as the basis on which the ADB has defined the key axes of a continent-wide Franchising Initiative, which is to tackle the main constraints to franchising’s development in the continent, as identified in the Report.
The Report, and its companion work, the "Franchising Toolkit", certainly constitute a powerful tool in our efforts to generate awareness about this important private sector development issue in Africa and build capacity in the private and public sectors across the continent. The quality and depth of NLFC’s work is thoroughly appreciated by us at the ADB, as we believe they have made a valuable contribution towards the development of the private sector in Africa, particularly with regards to franchising.
Director, Private Sector Department
"(We) began the creation of an updated set of operations manuals and user guides that would document and explain every detail of how to run a successful franchise location. To help with this massive undertaking, we engaged a franchise consultant by the name of Perry Maisonneuve. He had worked with many companies in the Canadian Franchise Association and came highly recommended. One of Perry's skills was to look at every system from the perspective of a new franchisee and ask questions that required us to distill our knowledge in a way that could be easily consumed. When finally completed, we had a fully documented system containing 473 pages of information."
